It is an unfortunate reality that performing arts programs in America's public school system continue to be grossly underfunded each year. Additionally, whenever there are budget cuts at the federal, state or district level, they typically impact performing arts programs before most other aspects of academia. As such, it is critical to the survival of our program that SIMDE provide the supplemental fiscal resources needed to enable our program to continue to thrive. As SIMDE is a licensed 501c3 non-profit organization, all donations to SIMDE are tax deductible. Many companies and employers offer donation matching programs, so please engage your employer to match your donation if possible.

Corporate sponsorships

​

Interested in becoming a corporate sponsor? SIMDE is seeking financial sponsorship that will go directly to purchasing and repairing instruments, providing supplemental instruction, paying entry fees for competitions, transportation costs to get to competitions, marching band show designs, props, keeping program fees affordable for all families, and so much more.

We offer four levels of participation: Bronze, Silver, Gold, & Platinum. Each level is based on the amount of contribution and offers varying exposure for your business. Some of the exposure opportunities a Corporate Sponsor might receive are as follows:

• Concert Program Exposure: We produce programs for each event performance that are distributed to our audience at the beginning of each performance.

• Band Website Exposure: The SIMDE website (simde.org) is the heart of communication within our program and also a vital source for anyone wanting to know more about the program.

• Event Banner Exposure: SIMDE students participate in different types of venues throughout the year including competitions, school sporting events, school activities, various fundraising events, and much more where a sponsorship banner will be displayed.

SPONSORSHIP LEVELS

BRONZE: $100 - $249

• Name listed as sponsor in all band concert programs

• Name listed as sponsor on SIMDE.org website with link to your corporate website

SILVER: $250 - $499 (All Bronze level items plus)

• Name announced at home football games

• 8x10 Certificate of sponsorship suitable for display

 

GOLD: $500 - $599 (All Bronze and Silver level items plus)

• Business card size ad (3.5” x 2”) in all band concert programs (Please provide your ad and logo)

• Your logo on our banner displayed at football games, at marching band competitions, & when else possible

 

PLATINUM: $1,000 + (All Bronze, Silver and Gold level items plus)

• Framed 8x10 Certificate of sponsorship with a SIMDE photo

• Your sponsorship and logo displayed on the trailer we drive to all competitions and visible all year

FUNDRAISING

​

SIMDE also relies on fundraising & sponsorships to to help with all of the things mentioned above. Fundraising also provides students with an opportunity to take ownership of their program's success by supporting SIMDE with their own personal participation. SIMDE conducts many fundraisers throughout the year, including but not limited to:​

• Band Days: September & April – Students play and solicit donations within the neighborhoods of our school boundary.

• Bottle Drop: Donate all of your bottles and cans to SIMDE by taking them to BottleDrop in SIMDE-designated bags. Reach out to any of our board members on the "Contacts" page to get some SIMDE bags.

• 50/50 Spring Musical Raffle: Each night of the Spring Musical we run a 50/50 Raffle and split the proceeds three ways between the Theater, Band and Choir.

• Fred Meyer Rewards: Link your rewards card to SIMDE and they will make a quarterly donation to our program.

VOLUNTEER

​

Supporting SIMDE, and thus supporting your child's education and performing arts ambitions, does not have to be exclusively monetary. SIMDE also relies on parent involvement and volunteering in order to pull off the multitude of events that occur throughout the school year. Whether it is serving on the SIMDE board or just lending a helping hand, the active engagement of parent volunteers is critical to our program's success. There are many ways you can help out including, but not limited to the following:

• Serve on the SIMDE Board: Each of the SIMDE board members are a parent of a student that is part of the program. If you are a parent of a student in the program, you are eligible to serve on the SIMDE board. We are always in need of new board members, as once students graduate from the program, their parents are no longer able to serve on the board.

• Marching Band Season: There's no way around it. Marching band takes a small army of parents in order to pull off the shows that we put together for the students. Whether it's help with building props, helping with setting up and tearing down camp, providing food service for the kids, or just helping with moving the front ensemble instruments and props on and off the field, we could not make it through marching band season without parent volunteers.

• Band Days, Competitions, Etc.: We need parent volunteers for these events to help with set up, clean up and chaperoning the students.
